We are looking for partners to join us on our JOURNEY

This spring A.B.L.E. Ensembles will present an original adaptation of the epic classic The Odyssey. The production will blend music, movement, shadow puppetry, poetry, and a ton of imagination from 24 actors with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A.B.L.E.'s in person ensembles will combine for a joint performance at Chicago Shakespeare Theater in May.

We are looking for generous sponsors to help us bring the highest quality theatre experience to our actors and audiences this spring. These sponsorships underwrite the essential costs of our production, so that we can grow our program offerings to include more actors, from more neighborhoods across Chicago. A.B.L.E. participants build lifelong skills and friendships, and at the same time, A.B.L.E. audiences are offered a different window through which to see people with disabilities.

Read on to see how you can play a part in bringing our next show to life, or email our Development Manager, Michelle Blose, for more information.

Sponsorship Levels

$10,000 Production Sponsor

Production sponsors are essential to creating a professional performance. A Production Sponsorship will offset our program costs including equitable salaries for our professional Teaching Artists, production design fees, and occupancy expenses for rehearsal and performance spaces. In addition, A.B.L.E. thoughtfully invests in quality costumes, props, sets, and materials to bring our show to life.

$7,500 Accessibility Sponsor

Accessibility sponsors are necessary to living our organizational value of making the arts available to everyone. This sponsorship will offset the cost of open captioning at all performances and streamable video content, ASL translation in consultation with a Deaf consultant, dual ASL interpretation performances, and sensory support materials for actors and audiences.

$5,000 In the Wings Sponsor

In the Wings sponsors provide a vital creative and social outlet for individuals with disabilities. In the Wings is a 6-week course geared towards welcoming new participants to A.B.L.E.’s work and introducing foundational performance skills. Even though you won’t see them on stage, A.B.L.E. will host two In the Wings ensembles in the spring of 2024, serving an additional 20 actors with virtual and in-person sessions.

$2,500 Technology & Travel Sponsor

Technology & travel sponsors remove barriers to accessing A.B.L.E.’s programs, whether people participate in-person or virtually. The Tech & Travel sponsorship provides transportation assistance to and from rehearsals and performance for actors, facilitators and teaching artists in need. It also provides technology assistance to ensure the virtual ensemble can get connected to their weekly rehearsals.
