Facilitator Spotlight: ARIN!

We can’t say it enough! We have the best volunteers around! We love introducing you to the fabulously kind, energetic, and multi-talented crew that supports our ensemble. This week, spend some time with one of our new Friday facilitators: ARIN!

Name:  Arin Mulvaney

Birthday: March 21

Hometown: Kalamazoo, MI

Why did you start volunteering with A.B.L.E.?: I used to work with Lawrence and have been following A.B.L.E. through his Facebook for a long time. This is my first semester with A.B.L.E. and I love it!

What’s your job when you’re not with us?:  I am the Founder and Artistic Director of the Shakespeare All-Stars, a touring theatre company that offers performances and educational programs for all ages, so I spend most of my time managing and growing the company.  I’m lucky to be a teaching artist, director, actor, and costume designer with the Shakespeare All-Stars and other companies in Chicago. I’m also a group fitness instructor and teach five fitness classes each week!  In other words, I’m living the dream!

What are some of your favorite hobbies?:  I like to read, ride my bicycle, and take naps with my cats! Shout out to my kitties, Wiley and RuPaw!

Do you have a hidden talent?:  I can do the splits – does that count?  Oh, and I can juggle!

Who is your favorite actor/performer? What do you like about them?:  Too many to choose from!  I’ve always loved Bette Midler – she sings, dances, acts; she can make you laugh and cry, and she’s pretty sassy!  She’s performing on Broadway in her 70’s!

If you won a million dollars, what would you do?: First, I would get a massage and maybe a haircut. Then, I’d travel the world!

What’s your go-to dance party song?:  I really dig “Happy” by Pharrell Williams

Anything else we should know about you?:  I’ll be performing in ACT 5 FEST on April 22 at Stage 773.  Five companies are each presenting one act of Romeo & Juliet, so come support your local Shakespeareans and look for me as the Nurse in Act 4!

Thanks Arin for joining us this semester and sharing your Shakespeare-prowess and great energy with our Friday ensemble!

If you want to see Arin and all of our teen ensemble, be sure to grab your ticket for As You Like It, Monday May 20th at Chicago Shakespeare Theater!
