Actor Spotlight: MARISSA!

When you meet her, you might be surprised to learn that this week's featured actor is one of the youngest in our troupe, having joined the ensemble when she was just 12 years old. She is a mature and take charge lady who rises to any challenge, and is drawn to characters who are similarly brave and powerful. She takes her craft very seriously and loves learning new theatrical vocabulary and getting into new stories.  A natural dancer and also a talented gymnast and cheerleader, she brings tremendous energy and physicality to all of her roles, and encourages the audience to get in on the fun during our shows...

MEET MARISSA!

I am 14 years old and I have been part of the A.B.L.E. Ensemble since 2012. Twelfth Night will be my 7th show. You might have seen me onstage before in some of my favorite roles: Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, The Pilot in What You Will, and The King in Such Stuff As Dreams Are Made On. Three things I enjoy about coming to A.B.L.E.  are: the dance parties, blocking our scenes, and I really like when we sing songs. My favorite dance party song is “Cake by the Ocean” by DNCE. One thing I have learned from being a part of this ensemble is how to articulate my lines.

Three words to describe me are funny, energetic, and silly. I am a great reader and I can dance, cheerlead, and play basketball. Someday, I want to get married. I love my family, especially my new little brother Armani.

Marissa will play Alessandra Corbata, one of the members of the all-female spy agency, U.N.I.T.E. in our second feature film THE SPY WHO KNEW ME. To help Marissa and the rest of our ensemble make it to the big screen, click here to make a donation to our Hatchfund campaign
